Villa Bambini is a family owned Early Learning Centre and Kindergarten conveniently located in Essendon and Templestowe.

are managed by a team of educators with over 30 years experience caring for children in a nurturing learning environment.

We offer a range of child care options, from babies to pre-school age children, including a kindergarten program run by qualified educators.

Following the the Reggio Emilia learning approach, our centres are based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment.

Our mission is threefold:

1. To provide an enriching environment and a community for children that sees that they are healthy, happy and secure to develop important emotional, social and intellectual life skills.

The Program

Indoor play at Early Learning Centre

At Villa Bambini, we believe the program needs to:

  • Be developmentally appropriate and caring.
  • Be concerned with every aspect of each child’s development.
  • Reflect the multicultural nature of our Australian society.
  • Be challenging, interesting, and varied, providing lots of choices.
  • Involve parents in its planning, implementation and evaluation.

  • Negotiate and cooperate with others

Children learn best through a play based program focusing on their individual interests, strengths and needs. While establishing routine is important for children to develop independence and self esteem, the program acknowledges that all children are unique individuals and need to be nurtured within a flexible environment. There are known ages and stages of child development; but not all children go through these at the same age, time or rate.

Healthy Habits

Wellbeing is a huge part of the program at Villa Bambini.

Our menu is balanced and nutritious which gives the children the opportunity to begin understanding how to make healthy choices. All fresh, delicious meals are prepared in our purpose-built kitchen by a qualified chef. We can also cater for any special dietary requirements and allergies.

We have a passion for games and activities to keep the children active, develop their gross motor skills and body awareness. We run special Music & Movement programs to introduce concepts of focused breathing and provide an outlet for self expression.
